The Freer Gallery is different than other galleries I've visited. My Freer visit was too brief and I will return but wondered why I enjoyed myself so much when I'm not really a fan of Asian art. So I noodled that question for a while and came to the conclusion that my comfort in the Gallery was because the place just flowed...Feng Shui at its best. The curators, designers, caretakers, et.al., did an amazing job of putting so much into the Gallery and yet it just works...I didn't feel overwhelmed by the number of exhibits or the presentations of the individual items or groups. They all blended together in a smooth flow that just made sense. This shot was taken at the top of the stairs entering the Gallery looking down one of the halls. This statue is quite intimidating up close and also from far away.
