The East Gallery of the National Gallery of Art houses the more contemporary pieces...I always think of the huge Calder mobile in the center of the museum as well as the "Calder Room" in one of the towers. Since the building was renovated I found that walking around was much easier and more consistently "artistic" instead of the somewhat disjointed features of yesteryear's design. Of course, that's just my opinion. On the roof there is additional artwork including this giant blue chicken. All I could think about was that he was trying to get to the other side of the road...oww.
